Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 2026 (v3)
These are the terms and conditions for using Age Engage. We've written them in plain English so they're easy to understand. Please read them before using the site. By creating an account or using Age Engage, you agree to these terms.
1. Who we are
Age Engage is an online subscription service that provides downloadable content — including audio files, guides, and other resources — aimed at people interested in healthy and active ageing.
When we say "we", "us", or "our", we mean Age Engage. When we say "you" or "your", we mean you as a visitor or subscriber.
2. Creating an account
You need to create a free account to download or stream content. Creating an account is free — you only pay if you choose a subscription plan.
Each account is for the exclusive use of one individual (personal use) or, for business subscribers, the staff based at a single premises (business use). A separate subscription is required for each additional location, even within the same organisation. Accounts may not be shared beyond this permitted scope or used to provide access to others.
When you create an account, you agree to:
- Provide an accurate email address and any other details we ask for
- Keep your password private and not share your account with anyone else
- Let us know if you think someone else has accessed your account
- Use the account only as permitted under these terms (see section 5)
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
3. Subscriptions and payment
We offer two subscription plans: monthly and annual. Current prices are shown on our pricing page.
Payments are handled by Stripe, a secure third-party payment provider. We never store your card details ourselves.
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period. You'll receive a receipt by email each time you're charged.
You can cancel your subscription at any time through the billing area in your account. When you cancel, your access to downloads and streaming continues until the end of the period you've already paid for — you won't be charged again after that. Once that period ends, access is removed.
We don't offer refunds for partial subscription periods, but if you have a problem, please contact us and we'll do our best to help.
4. What you can do with the content
Your subscription gives you access to download and stream content on Age Engage while your subscription is active. This means you can:
- Download and save files to your own device for personal use
- Stream audio files in your browser
- Keep any files you have already saved to your device — those remain yours
Access to downloads and streaming requires an active, paid subscription. If your subscription lapses, expires, or is cancelled, you will no longer be able to download or stream any files through this site — including files you have previously downloaded through it. Files already saved to your own device are unaffected.
You cannot:
- Download or stream content without an active subscription
- Share, resell, or redistribute the content to other people
- Share your account login details with anyone else
- Use the content for commercial purposes (e.g. in classes or courses you charge for) without our written permission
- Copy or reproduce the content in another product or service
All content on Age Engage is protected by copyright. Ownership remains with Age Engage or the original content creators.
5. Account sharing and fair use
As set out in section 2, each account covers one individual (personal use) or the staff at a single premises (business use). Where an organisation has multiple sites, each site requires its own subscription. Sharing login credentials beyond the permitted scope is not permitted.
We use automated technology to monitor for patterns consistent with account sharing or abuse. This includes (but is not limited to) detecting simultaneous active sessions, logins from multiple or geographically inconsistent locations within a short period, and unusual download activity.
Where we detect activity that suggests an account is being misused, we will ordinarily send a written warning to the registered email address. However, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate an account immediately and without warning where the abuse is serious or persistent. No refund will be given for any unused subscription period in such cases.
6. Browsing the site for free
You don't need an account to browse the site. All file titles, descriptions, and categories are publicly visible. You only need to subscribe to actually download or stream content.
7. Our free newsletter
We offer a free newsletter with updates, tips, and information about new content. You can sign up on our home page or opt in when you create an account.
We'll only send you the newsletter if you've actively chosen to receive it. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter email.
8. What we can change
We may update the content available on Age Engage, add new features, or change how the site works. We'll try to give you notice of any significant changes.
We may change our subscription prices. If we increase prices, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal. You'll always have the option to cancel before being charged the new price.
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. We'll post the updated version on this page with a new "last updated" date. If you continue to use Age Engage after changes are posted, you're agreeing to the updated terms.
9. Closing accounts — if we close your account
We reserve the right to suspend or close your account if you:
- Break any of these terms
- Share your account or downloaded content with others
- Use the site in a way that could harm us or other users
If we close your account for a reason that's our fault, we'll refund the unused portion of any current subscription.
10. Deleting your own account — 30-day grace period
You can request to delete your account at any time from the Profile settings page in your account. Here's how it works:
- Request: Click "Request account deletion" in your Profile settings. You'll receive a confirmation email.
- 30-day window: Your account stays active for 30 days. If you change your mind, log in and click "Cancel deletion request" in your Profile settings — your account will be restored immediately.
- Permanent deletion: If you don't cancel within 30 days, your account is automatically and permanently anonymised. This cannot be undone.
Please cancel any active subscription before requesting deletion, as your subscription will continue to renew until it is cancelled or expires naturally. You can do this from the Billing page.
11. What happens to your data after deletion
When your account is deleted, we immediately erase:
- Your name and email address
- Your password
- Your session data (you are logged out of all devices)
- Your newsletter subscription (if any)
However, UK law requires us to keep certain financial and business records. Under HMRC rules (Companies Act 2006) we must retain accounting records for 6 years. This means we keep the following for up to 6 years from your last transaction:
- Your Stripe customer reference (an anonymous ID used to match our records with Stripe's payment records)
- Subscription history (plan, dates, status) — but not linked to your name or email
These records are kept purely to satisfy our legal obligations and are never used for marketing or shared with third parties. They cannot be used to identify you by name after your account has been deleted.
Download logs (records of which files were downloaded) are retained in anonymised form — they no longer contain any information that can identify you.
For full details of how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
12. Our responsibility to you
We do our best to keep Age Engage available and working well, but we can't guarantee it will be available 100% of the time. We may need to take the site down occasionally for maintenance.
The content on Age Engage is for general information and personal use. It is not a substitute for professional health, medical, or fitness advice. Please consult a qualified professional before acting on anything you find here.
To the extent permitted by UK law, our liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the last 12 months.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If we have a dispute, we'll try to resolve it amicably first. If we can't, disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
14. Contact us
If you have any questions about these terms, please get in touch with us. You can find our contact details on the site.
